Sleep Shouldn't Be the Hardest Part of the Day

For Mark and Alma, it started with nights that didn't feel restful—and slowly turned into mornings that didn't either.

Mark and Alma are retired now, and most of their days are unhurried by design.

There are odds and ends around the house. Whatever Alma needs done. With their children grown and gone, it's just the two of them—and these days, they're working toward something specific: staying well enough to travel.

“We are trying our best to maintain our health so we can travel,” Mark says.

It's a simple goal. It also depends on something most people don't think about until it stops working quietly in the background: a good night's sleep.

For Mark and Alma, that part had quietly stopped working.

A Problem That Showed Up Every Night

It wasn't one bad night. It was most of them.

Nasal congestion made it hard to fall asleep, and harder to stay asleep. Mornings picked up where the nights left off—groggy, congested, slow to start.

It happened daily. Not dramatic, not an emergency. Just a pattern that repeated itself every single night, wearing on two people trying to build a healthier chapter of life.

Before Miko, Mark and Alma managed it the way most people do: nasal decongestants to get through the congestion, melatonin to try to force the sleep. It helped, some nights. It wasn't a solution. It was damage control.

They weren't looking for a dramatic fix. They just wanted their nights back.

A Search That Started With Allergies

The congestion wasn't random. Mark and Alma had been dealing with allergy and sinus issues for a while, and eventually, Mark started looking for an air purifier.

He found the Miko Ibuki on the Walmart app.

He didn't buy one. He bought two.

“My wife and I were having allergy and sinus difficulties,” he says. That was reason enough to try something that might help both of them, not just one.

Where It Lives, and Why

The Ibuki didn't go in a living room or an office. It went in the bedroom.

That wasn't incidental. The bedroom is where the congestion hit hardest, where the bad nights started, and where the mornings that followed them began. If anything was going to help, it needed to work where Mark and Alma actually slept.

It became part of their routine on December 2, 2024. Since then, it hasn't stopped.

“Maintaining the Miko running 24/7, changing filters as needed,” Mark says, when asked what taking care of himself looks like these days. The Ibuki runs alongside eating healthier, cutting back on carbs, and walking after meals—one more habit folded into a life built around staying well.

What Changed, Quietly

Ask Mark what the Ibuki actually does for them, and the answer isn't complicated.

“It lets us breathe cleaner, fresher air. It reduces our allergy symptoms and helps us sleep better.”

That's the whole story, in the way he tells it.

But for two people trying to protect their health so they can keep traveling, keep moving, keep building the retirement they worked toward—sleep isn't a small thing. It's the foundation everything else depends on.

Mark and Alma haven't changed who they are. They're still proud of the same things: their faith, their marriage, the children they raised, the retirement they reached together. The Ibuki didn't give them any of that.

It just gave them better nights—and mornings that don't start already behind.

Something Worth Passing Along

Mark isn't inclined to overstate things. Asked what he'd tell someone in a similar spot, he keeps it simple and specific:

“If someone was dealing with nightly allergies and congestion, I would recommend this small, compact, quiet Ibuki.”

No dramatic turnaround. No claim that it changed their lives.

Just two people who wanted their nights back, and found something small and quiet that gave them back.
